Biography
Dave has lived in Delaware County since he was seven years old. He attended Delaware City Schools and graduated from Ohio University. He received a J.D. degree from The Ohio State University (now Moritz) College of Law. Dave was admitted to practice in Ohio in November, 1973. Dave has engaged in the general practice of law in Delaware for his entire career. He and his brother Mike founded Shade & Shade in 1980.
Dave and his wife, Leslie, who is a retired pharmacist, raised two children, and are now the proud grandparents of four young grandchildren who reside in Delaware County.
Over a period of many years, Dave has been very involved in community activities and the growth of Delaware County. Among many other activities, he was elected to Delaware City Council, 1975-1979; served on the Buckeye Valley Local Board of Education twice, 1984-1989 and 1994-2001. He has also served on the Grady Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees for six years (Chairman of Board for two years, Chairman of Executive Committee, member Finance Committee); the Central Ohio Symphony Orchestra Board of Trustees, 1988-1995 (Past President); and numerous other committees and groups involved with schools, charitable or community causes, and candidates (on a non-partisan basis) for public office.

He is a member of and is the past president of the Delaware County Bar Association. Dave is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Columbus Bar Association. He has been a Life Fellow of the Ohio State Bar Foundation since 1992.
